About Chess Grow
Our sister company builds and operates chessgrow.com, a platform that supports chess training and collaboration between students, trainers, and caretakers.
It delivers tailored digital training materials, helps fine-tune learning pace and content, and enables interaction with established educators.
The result is rapid skill development of players at all levels of ability.
The Challenge
Teaching chess to children is an intricate process, which requires trainers to fine-tune the pace, material, and feedback to each students’ needs and personality.
Traditionally, chess training is primarily paper-based and task sheets are reviewed manually. As the Gliwice Chess Academy grew successful and the number of lessons went up, this became burdensome for the trainers.
On top of this workload, systematic learning and tournament participation of more advanced players required ongoing cooperation with the parents. Chess teaching would greatly benefit from an all-around supporting tool.
Chess Grow is the brainchild of Marlena Chlost, the founder and CEO of ChessGrow and Emphie Solutions, which builds on years of chess mastery and experience in teaching.
Chess Grow brings the chess learning experience online and integrates the efforts of players, trainers, and teachers. It helps players at any level improve their skills through interactive tasks, video lectures, and mini-games created by grandmasters and renowned trainers.
All tasks solved on the platform are automatically graded to effortlessly provide trainers with the information needed to guide each player. Trainers can also use the platform to communicate with the players and assign or create task packages to target training needs. Parents of young players may also use the platform to monitor training progress.
The development of the Chess Grow platform became the formative experience for the core software and product development team at Emphie Solutions.
ChessGrow remains under active development and as a matter of fact, a new and greatly redesigned version 2.0 is on the way!
